Abilene rat control

We are experts in rat control, and are not your typical Abilene, Texas pest extermination company. We don't use poison, since it simply doesn't work, not to mention it causes rats a long, painful death! Poison doesn't kill right away, which means the poisoned rats almost never die where the poison was originally placed, and finding the rodent carcasses means it would take even longer to rid your house of rats. So instead of poison, we use humane and permanent rat control methods such as snap traps, or exclusion and relocation. We completely solve your rat problem by taking these steps:

  • Inspect the entire property, ground to roof, and the attic
  • Seal all entry areas shut, no matter how small, with steel - rats can get in through the tiniest of holes!
  • Set a dozen or more traps in the house and around your property
  • Remove all rats as they are caught and monitor for activity
  • Once there is no more activity and no more rats caught, we're done
  • When necessary, we remove feces, replace insulation, and repair chewed wires

Abilene rat removal tip of the month: Poison rats - Do not poison rats. It's a miracle that rat poison still has a place on the market with all the trouble that it can cause. The first downfall to rat poison is that not all rats will eat it. There are so many other tempting treats in the rodent world to entice a rat that a block of poison can seem very unappealing. Not only is poison bland, any rat that has had experience with it in the past may steer clear of the toxin. Rats usually take small samples of their food before they eat the entire item. This safety mechanism is in place to prevent them from dying after eating something rotten. If a rat gets sick off a meal, it will never eat that item again. Obviously, if a rat samples poison, the animal will likely get sick but not die. Now the poison is worthless because the rat will never go near it. Under the assumption that a rat does go near the poison and eats enough of it to die; where will the rat go when it gets sick? Usually into the depths of your home. A sick rat that dies in your home's structure will begin to decompose. The decomposition process will create a pungent odor that will not go away until you find the body and remove it. Finding and removing a carcass can be trickier than trapping a live rat.
